Slow Cooked Brisket

It’s hard to beat a big hearty slap of beef during the colder months. During those duller months it can be handy just throwing everything into a pot and letting it work its magic. This recipe is one of those and holds that comfort we all crave at times. It's packed with flavour and has a lovely gravy to go with it. All you need is a pot of spuds to accompany it and you'll be delighted.

Step 1

Drizzle your oil over the meat and rub this in. Now launch on your seasonings which are salt, garlic granules, smoked paprika and oregano. Give both sides a good coating of these and pat it in. Get your large pan or skillet over a high heat and sear the beef off to create a nice crust. If your brisket is quite lean add a little oil to the pan to help seal. Once seared pop it into your large pot.
