Fruit and Nut Caramel Squares

It’s hard to beat a caramel square but this wee twist of fruit and nut might do it. It has the traditional buttery base and thick chewy caramel we all love. But the addition of fruit sand nut really adds to the texture and flavour. Think of a Cadbury's fruit and nut bar but even better. If that wasn't enough I coated the top in melted Toblerone which was a stroke of genius if you ask me.

Step 1

Add your flour and caster sugar to a food processor, giving a quick mix. Gradually add your butter continuously blitzing this. Once that combines together pop it into a bowl and give one final mix ensuring it's all combined. Get this launched onto your baking tray and press it in evenly, smoothing the top out with a palette knife. Prick your base all over with a fork.
