Floury Baps

These are perfect for any burger or baps needing filled for a wee picnic. They have a soft pillowy centre how we all like them and a wee chew on the crust. When I'm having these for a lunch they have to be filled to the gills with proper butchers ham or one boiled at home, lots of coleslaw, doorstop slices of cheese and seasoned well with salt and pepper. It's simple but simple done right always wins. If there's a specific filling or burger you'd pair with these let me know or even better upload a pic!

Step 1

Add your flour to a bowl, along with your yeast, sugar, salt and give this a mix together. Pour in your melted butter and add about 3/4 of your lukewarm water. Bring this together with a fork and it will look quite shaggy. Gradually add the rest of your water mixing between each addition. You want it to get to the point were there's no more dry bits.
